The reason to consider it.
Salt Spring is a luxurious home masterfully designed to function as an independent home or as a guest house to Red Rock Villa. It offers a unique combination of privacy, breathtaking views, and high-end amenities.
Built unobtrusively into one of the highest hillsides of Virgin Gorda, it affords views of the wide Caribbean Sea and Sir Francis Drake Channel, with enjoyment of glorious sunsets over neighbouring islands. Designed by German architect Hubert Horbach, and constructed using superior European-made building materials, Salt Spring sets a benchmark in design and structure.
An exotic open-air courtyard with a koi fishpond and tropical plants creates a relaxing atmosphere. An outdoor dining area, extensive porches, and a 50-foot long swimming pool create the outdoor lifestyle so coveted in the islands.
Inside, a mezzanine floor crowns the Great Room with its vaulted ceiling of exotic timbers and steel beams. A spiral staircase leads to a mezzanine floor which houses an entertainment room and extra sleeping accommodations. The Great Room is surrounded by a sunny porch with seating perfect for quiet relaxation and enjoyment of the ocean views and trade winds. A formal dining room, spacious drawing room and state-of-the-art kitchen complete the open floor plan Great Room. Open-concept layouts, high ceilings, and large windows maximize natural light and ventilation. Across the courtyard, are the elegant ensuite master bedroom, and luxurious spa, both designed with comfort and privacy in mind. These are treated to the sound of flowing water that creates a Zen-like atmosphere. With a total of 6,500 square feet of living space, Salt Spring is an ideal retreat for discerning guests or long-term residents. Salt Spring is graced by cooling trade winds and enjoys the tranquility of its secluded setting.
Construction standards meet hurricane codes of South Florida. Walls are concrete cladding over 2.5-inch interior interlocking block plates from Greek manufacturer, YTONG. This fireproof material provides strength and insulation ideal for warm, tropical climates. The peaked roofs are slate grey Canadian shingles with copper guttering imported from Germany. Interior ceilings are vaulted with pressure treated timber, and superior grade plywood imported from Canada. German-made steel beams and cables add stylistic effect while ensuring structural integrity to the roof. Custom-made aluminum windows and doors, with glass panes that are thicker and denser than other glass, ensure incredible resistance to weather elements. Interior floor tiles, imported from the Dominican Republic, are made of limestone. Laid in varying sizes and angles, this natural stone tile unites all rooms of the villa.
Salt Spring has the unique feature of being the house at the end of the tree-lined estate road, creating a feeling of privacy in an already exclusive estate. Five minutes’ drive in any direction accesses a smooth beach and crystal clear ocean. Savannah Bay, Spring Bay and Valley Trunk are some of the most beautiful beaches of the BVI. Also, within easy reach are two national parks, The Baths and the Coppermine Ruins. The villa is conveniently located near to shopping, banking and transportation routes, a five-minute drive from Virgin Gorda Yacht Harbour, the airstrip, the ferry terminal, and the commercial centre of Spanish Town. Twenty minutes’ drive brings one to the North Sound Channel with such prestigious island developments and resorts like, Necker Island, Saba Rock, Bitter End Yacht Club and Oil Nut Bay. Salt Spring allows easy access to local restaurants, shopping, and marinas, while still maintaining a secluded ambiance.
Upon entering the electronic gate, one is surrounded by a lush, professionally designed garden that balances exotic local plants with imported trees. A focal point is the charming wooden Balinese sculpture under an ancient Indian rubber tree. The gardens have many Zen spots that call you to linger and relax.
